The Hub of Central Eastern Ontario

North Grenville is the hub of Central Eastern Ontario. North Grenville has become home for many people who commute to Ottawa for business and who return to the area for pleasure. But Ottawa is not the only large centre that is conveniently nearby.

Not much farther to the west is the city of Kingston which offers, among other things, a glimpse of the past at Old Fort Henry.

Also one can find the U.S.A. border crossing at Johnstown and Highway 401, a mere twenty-minute drive from Kemptville along the 416.

About an hour east, past Prescott is the city of Cornwall where visitors are treated to the best of three cultures; English, French and Mohawk.

However, if city life holds no attraction to the visitors to Central Eastern Ontario, the smaller rural communities will. The area's rich past and unique present are mirrored in the many hamlets and villages. Oxford Station, Bishop's Mills, Burritt's Rapids and Merrickville to the west, Spencerville, Mountain, and Iroquois villages found to the south, while Winchester and Chesterville are towns found to the east. Manotick and North Gower are also popular tourist spots, which are found a short distance north of Kemptville.
